How many words fit on one page?
A standard page — 12pt Times New Roman, 1-inch margins — holds about 500 words single-spaced or 250 words double-spaced. Larger fonts and wider spacing reduce that.
Why does my word processor show something different?
Headings, block quotes and paragraph breaks all consume space without adding many words. The calculator gives the standard estimate teachers and publishers use.
How many pages is 1,000 words handwritten?
Handwriting is roughly twice the size of 12pt type — expect about 4 pages single-spaced, versus 2 typed. Teachers usually specify typed pages for that reason.
How many words is a 5-page paper?
