Turkish Drops Subject Pronouns Frequently
Turkish verb conjugations indicate person and number, so subject pronouns (ben, sen, o) are often omitted. When translating to English, you must add the appropriate subject pronoun (I, you, he/she/it) since English requires explicit subjects. The verb ending tells you which pronoun to supply: geliyorum needs 'I am coming', geliyor needs 'he/she is coming'.
Word Order Reverses for Modifiers
Turkish places modifiers before nouns and uses SOV (Subject-Object-Verb) order, opposite to English SVO patterns. 'Büyük kırmızı ev' becomes 'big red house' (same order), but 'Kitabı okudum' must flip to 'I read the book', not 'I the book read'. Relative clauses also precede nouns in Turkish but follow them in English, requiring complete restructuring.
