Translating Turkish to English: what to know
Turkish Drops Subject Pronouns Frequently
Turkish verb conjugations indicate person and number, so subject pronouns (ben, sen, o) are often omitted. When translating to English, you must add the appropriate subject pronoun (I, you, he/she/it) since English requires explicit subjects. The verb ending tells you which pronoun to supply: geliyorum needs 'I am coming', geliyor needs 'he/she is coming'.
Word Order Reverses for Modifiers
Turkish places modifiers before nouns and uses SOV (Subject-Object-Verb) order, opposite to English SVO patterns. 'Büyük kırmızı ev' becomes 'big red house' (same order), but 'Kitabı okudum' must flip to 'I read the book', not 'I the book read'. Relative clauses also precede nouns in Turkish but follow them in English, requiring complete restructuring.
No Articles Exist in Turkish
Turkish has no equivalent to 'a', 'an', or 'the'. Translators must determine from context whether English needs an article and which one fits. 'Kedi gördüm' could mean 'I saw a cat', 'I saw the cat', or 'I saw cats' depending on context. The number 'bir' sometimes functions like 'a/an' but isn't always present when English requires an indefinite article.

What does the “Meaning kept” score mean?
After each translation, a second AI check compares the original and the translation and scores how closely the meaning survived (100 = same meaning). Below 90 you'll see a warning — double-check names, numbers and negations. The check processes your text and immediately discards it; only the score is kept.
