What changes in an English to Greek translation
A different alphabet
Greek uses its own 24-letter alphabet, written left to right like English. Modern Greek marks the stressed syllable with a single accent, as in «ευχαριστώ» (efcharistó, “thank you”). Formal and informal “you”
English has one “you”, but Greek usually chooses between «εσύ» for friends and family and the plural «εσείς» for strangers, customers and older people. “How are you?” can be «Τι κάνεις;» or the more polite «Πώς είστε;». Set Tone to Casual or Formal (business email) to steer the choice.
Gender, articles and endings
Greek nouns are masculine, feminine or neuter, and the article and adjective change to match: «ο», «η», «το». “The new car” becomes «το καινούργιο αυτοκίνητο». Endings also shift with a word’s role in the sentence, so one English word can appear in several forms.
The Greek question mark
Greek writes a question with a mark that looks like the English semicolon: «Πού είναι η τουαλέτα;» means “Where is the bathroom?”. Greek also usually writes decimals with a comma and dates as day, month, year.

Is it safe to translate private messages or work emails?
Your text is sent to an AI model, translated, returned and then discarded. It is not stored and not used for training.
