Free Telugu to English Translator with Tone Options
For students, families and colleagues who need Telugu messages, notes or letters in clear English. Telugu puts the verb last and shows respect through its verb endings, so a good English version often needs a different sentence order and the right tone.

What changes when Telugu becomes English
The verb moves from the end to the middle
Telugu usually follows subject–object–verb order and uses suffixes where English uses prepositions. In నేను ఇంటికి వెళ్తున్నాను (nēnu iṇṭiki veḷtunnānu), the ending -ki on ఇంటికి marks “to home”, and the verb comes last. English needs “I am going home”, so the whole sentence is rebuilt, not translated word by word.
Respect lives in the verb endings
Telugu separates respectful మీరు (mīru) from familiar నువ్వు (nuvvu), and the verb changes with them. English has only “you”, so politeness has to come from word choice. For a message to a teacher or manager, pick “Formal (business email)” under Tone. For chats with friends, pick “Casual”.
Missing subjects must be filled in
Telugu verbs show person and number, so the pronoun is often dropped. వస్తాను (vastānu) alone means “I will come”. English needs a subject, so check that the translation picked the right one, especially in short replies.
English words written in Telugu script
Everyday Telugu borrows many English words and writes them in Telugu letters, such as ఆఫీసు (āphīsu) for “office”. These usually come back as the plain English word.
How do I translate Telugu to English here?
Type or paste your Telugu text into the input box, or use Dictate to speak it. Keep English as the target language and run the translation. You can then copy the result or use Read aloud to hear it.
Why does the English sentence order look so different from my Telugu?
Telugu usually places the verb at the end and marks meaning with suffixes, while English puts the verb after the subject and uses separate words like “to” and “from”. The translator rebuilds the sentence for English, so a word-by-word match is not expected.
How much Telugu text can I translate at once, and can I open a file?
Each run takes up to 5,000 characters. Split longer texts into parts. You can open a DOCX, ODT, RTF or TXT file, and its text is placed in the editor, but the formatting is not kept and PDFs are not supported. Photos and screenshots go through the “Photo / screenshot” button instead; the image is sent only to be read and is not stored.
Is it safe to translate personal messages or family documents?
Your text is sent to an AI model, translated, returned and then discarded. It is not stored and not used for training.
Can I see a Latin transliteration or pronunciation of the Telugu?
The translator has no transliteration feature for this language pair. The phrase table on this page shows common phrases in Latin letters, and Read aloud lets you hear the English translation.
Can I also translate English to Telugu?
Yes. Press Swap languages and your text stays in place while the direction flips, so you can write a reply in English and get it in Telugu script.
How do I choose between a formal and a casual English version?
Use Tone: “Formal (business email)” suits text written with respectful మీరు, while “Casual” fits chats that use నువ్వు. “Match the original” lets the AI follow the tone of your Telugu, and Show alternatives offers 2–3 phrasings in different registers.
Can it translate a photo of Telugu text or a live conversation?
Photos and screenshots can be translated: use the «Photo / screenshot» button, and the image is sent to the server only to read the text and is not stored. Voice conversation mode is not supported. You can type, paste, open a text file, or use Dictate to speak Telugu into the input box.
How do I know the English kept my meaning?
After each translation, a second AI check compares both texts and shows a result next to “Meaning kept:”. It is an estimate, so still check names, numbers and negations like కాలేదు (kālēdu, “did not”).
