What changes when you translate Thai into Hindi

Two scripts, different word breaks

Both scripts run left to right. However, Thai usually writes words together and uses spaces to separate phrases or sentences. Hindi in Devanagari puts spaces between words. For example, ขอบคุณมาก (khop khun mak) becomes बहुत धन्यवाद, which is written as two separate words.

Polite particles have no direct Hindi match

Thai speakers often end sentences with ครับ (khrap) if they are male or ค่ะ (kha) if they are female. These particles add politeness. Hindi does not have them. Instead, it shows respect through आप and polite verb forms such as बताइए, or by adding जी. Setting the Tone to Formal (business email) keeps this respectful register.

Tense and gender show up only in Hindi

Thai verbs do not change for tense or gender. Time comes from context or from words like แล้ว (laeo) and จะ (cha). Hindi verbs agree with the speaker’s gender: मैं जाता हूँ (a man) and मैं जाती हूँ (a woman). If the Thai text gives no hint, such as ครับ or ค่ะ, the Hindi has to pick a form, so check it.

Classifiers disappear

Thai counts things with classifiers. For example, in กาแฟสองแก้ว (kafae song kaeo), the classifier แก้ว (glass) comes after the number. Hindi usually puts the number straight before the noun: दो कप कॉफ़ी.

How do I translate Thai to Hindi here?

Paste or type your Thai text into the input box, or use Dictate to speak it. Then start the translation, and the Hindi appears next to it. You can copy it, listen with Read aloud, or save it to your phrasebook.

Why does the Hindi sometimes use a male or female verb form I didn’t expect?

Thai verbs do not show gender, but Hindi verbs do. For example, जाता and जाती both mean “go”, for a male and a female speaker. If your Thai text has no clue such as ครับ or ค่ะ, check the verb endings and edit them if needed.

Can I see how the Thai and Hindi words are pronounced?

Yes. Click Show pronunciation to see an approximate Latin-letter version under the result. Thai is shown in RTGS-style romanization, which does not mark tones, and Hindi uses a simplified IAST-like transliteration. Read aloud lets you hear the Hindi.

How long can my text be, and can I upload a file?

Each run takes up to 5,000 characters, so split longer texts into parts. You can open a DOCX, ODT, RTF or TXT file, and its text is placed in the editor. Formatting is not kept, and PDFs are not supported; photos and screenshots can be read with the «Photo / screenshot» button.

Is it safe to paste messages from Thai friends or hotel bookings?

Your text is sent to an AI model, translated, returned and then discarded. It is not stored or used for training. Still, check names, dates and booking numbers in the result yourself.

Can I switch to a formal or casual Hindi style?

Yes. Under Tone, choose Match the original, Formal (business email) or Casual. Show alternatives also offers 2–3 other phrasings in different registers, for example with आप or with तुम.

Can I also translate from Hindi back into Thai?

Yes. Click Swap languages and your text stays in place while the direction reverses.

Can I translate a photo of a Thai sign or menu?

Yes, use the «Photo / screenshot» button to pick an image, take one with your camera or paste it in. The image is sent to our server only to read the text and is not stored. Check the text before translating, as messy handwriting may not be read reliably. You can also type or dictate the Thai text instead, and the tool will translate it.

How do I know if the meaning came through?

After each translation, a second AI check compares the Thai and the Hindi. It then shows a result next to Meaning kept:. This is an estimate, so still check numbers, names and negations such as ไม่.
